MODENA and Key Stakeholders Explore Electric Cooking and Refill Solutions to Unlock Indonesia’s Energy Transition

MODENA continues to advance more responsible energy consumption through innovative home appliance solutions and strategic cross-sector collaboration. Its participation in the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (IISF) 2026 reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the sustainability agenda by exploring how household technologies can help consumers optimise resource use, improve energy efficiency, and adopt more sustainable lifestyles.

As part of its engagement at IISF 2026, MODENA, in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and Systemiq, convened a follow-up dialogue bringing together key stakeholders to explore the potential of electric cooking as a pathway towards more efficient household energy management. The discussion examined opportunities to translate Indonesia’s broader energy transition ambitions into practical applications within the home, while strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Held at the MODENA Experience Center Suryo, the discussion featured Charles de Foucould Pradana Swandaru, Monitoring & Evaluation Program Division, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; Joni, Executive Vice President of Retail Sales and Customer Service at PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero); Nicole Jizhar, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Advisor at MODENA; and Rosa Permata Sari, Director of Technical Development Investment at Danantara Development Management Fund.

“Home appliances have an increasingly important role to play in helping households manage their energy consumption more effectively. At MODENA, our sustainability commitment extends beyond product innovation to include collaboration with stakeholders and greater awareness of responsible resource use. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to practical solutions that enable consumers to manage their daily household activities more efficiently without compromising comfort and convenience,” said Nicole Jizhar, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Advisor at MODENA.

Beyond energy efficiency, MODENA also expanded its MODENA Pure Hub initiative at IISF 2026, reinforcing its commitment to more sustainable access to drinking water. For the first time at IISF, MODENA introduced its RO 5110 Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purifier, available through MODENA Subscription. The initiative encouraged forum participants to refill their drinking water throughout the event, offering a convenient alternative to single-use bottled water and supporting more responsible consumption habits.

Enabling More Efficient Energy Use Through Electric Cooking

Energy efficiency is not solely about reducing electricity consumption; it is also about maximising the value of the energy used to meet everyday needs. In cooking, induction technology transfers heat directly to compatible cookware through an electromagnetic field, enabling a more targeted and efficient heating process.

By offering greater control over heat intensity and cooking duration, induction cooking also allows users to adjust energy use according to the requirements of each dish, helping minimise unnecessary consumption.

MODENA offers nine electric induction cooktop SKUs designed to provide precise heat control and greater flexibility in everyday cooking. Selected built-in models feature Precise Low Heat technology, enabling low-power cooking for applications that require gentler heating, while portable induction cooktops offer power settings starting from 200 watts. With nine selectable power levels, users can tailor heat output to different cooking requirements, from low-temperature preparation to higher-intensity cooking.

These capabilities illustrate how household appliance innovation can support more conscious energy use by integrating efficiency, precision, and convenience into everyday routines.

Advancing More Sustainable Drinking Water Consumption

Responsible household resource management also extends to water consumption and the way drinking water is accessed. Reverse Osmosis water purification technology enables water to be purified at the point of use through multiple filtration stages, providing an alternative to reliance on packaged drinking water and conventional bottled-water consumption.

Through MODENA Subscription, access to water purification technology is further supported by a monthly payment model that includes periodic maintenance and servicing. This approach helps maintain appliance performance throughout its service life while making the technology more accessible to consumers.

By encouraging water refilling, reducing reliance on single-use packaging, and supporting the continued use of appliances through maintenance, MODENA Pure Hub and MODENA Subscription contribute to a more circular approach to household consumption. Together, these initiatives demonstrate how accessible technology and service-based models can help translate sustainability ambitions into practical, everyday actions.

Through its participation in IISF 2026, MODENA continues to strengthen its role in advancing sustainable household living—bringing together technological innovation, stakeholder collaboration, and responsible consumption to support a more resource-efficient future.
