Today, we’re proud to announce the formation of MODENA’s new EV Mobility Taskforce—a multidisciplinary team charged with building the foundation for our seamless smart-mobility ecosystem. This taskforce brings together our brightest minds from R&D, electronics, software engineering, UX design, and industrial styling. Their mission? To develop the core technologies and processes that will power MODENA’s first electric vehicles and integrate them into our “smart living” vision.
From the very first week, the team has dived into research. Our engineers are testing multiple battery chemistries and thermal-management techniques, evaluating safety, cost, and energy density. At the same time, E/E software architects are designing a secure over-the-air update system and robust vehicle-to-cloud communication protocols. Meanwhile, our UX designers are crafting intuitive interface concepts that blend real-time vehicle data with home-automation controls. Early prototypes allow drivers to adjust home lighting right from the car dashboard, with voice commands powered by our existing IoT assistant - “Mona”. In parallel, we’re also exploring the integration of artificial intelligence to further personalize the driving experience and enhance predictive capabilities.
On the vehicle side, industrial and mechanical engineers are collaborating with electronics specialists to adapt a donor chassis for prototype builds. They’re defining modular zones for battery packs, infotainment modules, and climate systems—ensuring future models share standardized components for maximum efficiency. Wiring harnesses are being routed for minimal weight and easy serviceability. By the end of 2019, this taskforce will have established the processes, technical standards, and prototype guidelines that will guide MODENA’s entry into electric mobility.
